Lady Gaga gets her man, elbowing aside starlet Alex Stebbins

When Lady Gaga went back to her old boyfriend Luc Carl, he dumped starlet Alex Stebbins, after they'd been together a year. The N.Y. Post had a jilted-victim piece on her. Gaga started prowling around Carl, a drummer and bartender, about three months into the Luc-Alex couplehood, Alex recounts. "I had the one thing she couldn't have, and that made her want it more. "Luc ignored her. He said he was done with her. All they did was fight. She'd pick at him for anything, and he couldn't take it." But Alex found that Gaga -born Stefani Germanotta -"would stop at nothing to get him back," and eventually she got him. "She's the most powerful woman in the world," Stebbins said. So "there's no winning."

She's 21. Carl is 29. Gaga's 24.

Christina Aguilera has a new friend, who's a boy

It hasn't taken long for Christina Aguilera to move on to a new man, if Us magazine is to believed. The singer has apparently replaced her estranged husband Jordan Bratman with some guy named Matthew Rutler. Wow, being a pop star is so glamorous!
"They've been on a few dates over the last few weeks," a source tells the magazine about Rutler, who apparently is a set assistant from Aguilera's upcoming Burlesque. We suppose that's not any stranger than Britney Spears hooking up with her agent,Jason Trawick. Don't worry about son Max getting a new daddy just yet, though.
"It's not serious. She's not looking to jump into a relationship right now," the source adds." She has a lot going on with the movie and is focusing on spending as much time as possible with Max. (Rutler)'s been really good for her and is helping her through this diffcult time." Maybe she should be dating anyone at all right now, then. It certainly doesn't seem to give reconciliation with Bratman much of a chance.

Carles Puyol, Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Pedro and David Villa ensured La Roja became only the third side to start a semi-final with seven men from the same club – Czechoslovakia in 1934 and Uruguay in 1970 had the same number from Slavia Prague and Nacional respectively.

Lohan's decline mirrors woman she was to portray

LOS ANGELES: Hers was a singular talent that made her both famous and notorious.

Not that it did her much good. That brief time in the spotlight was followed by years, then decades, of obscurity and psychological pain. By the end, she had found religion and died broke and alone, aged 53.

That was Linda Boreman. Better known as Linda Lovelace, unwitting and, she later wrote, involuntary, star of Deep Throat, which some reckon is the most commercially successful film ever made. (Made for $US45,000 in 1972, it is said to have earned between $US100 million and $US600 million worldwide.)

Who better to play her than Lindsay Lohan, the perpetually troubled former teen star of movies such as Mean Girls, Freaky Friday and Herbie Fully Loaded, now awaiting a 90-day jail sentence for breaching the terms of her probation.

Specifically, Judge Marsha Revel found that Lohan, who turned 24 last week, failed to attend court-ordered alcohol education classes, having earlier lied to authorities about her drug possession and driving offences, and then to the court about her non-attendance.

This, Judge Revel said, showed a pattern of Lohan ''not taking things seriously''.

Those offences occurred three years ago, with Lohan eventually pleading guilty to drug and driving charges. That was the beginning of a professional and personal spiral. Lohan's last cinema-released film was I Know Who Killed Me in 2007, in which she had a dual role as a stripper and a torture victim.

By then, Lohan had already begun to stretch the patience of film executives. One took the unusual step of releasing a letter of reprimand to her, castigating Lohan for allowing her nightlife to interfere with her work.

Even if Lohan did not get the message, others in the industry did. Three months ago, Lohan was sacked from her role in a movie called The Other Side, with its producers citing concerns about her public image.

The question was whether Lohan could be relied on to draw people to a movie, its director, David Michaels, told the Los Angeles Times.

The answer then, for a movie with a $US20 million ($23.5 million) budget, was no. And that, as much as time inside Los Angeles County's Century Regional Detention Facility, will decide Lohan's future career prospects.

In the chequered personal and criminal histories of actors such as Robert Downey jnr and Tom Sizemore, she has abundant evidence of Hollywood's short and selective memory, and boundless capacity for forgiveness: box office receipts and acting chops will always tilt the scales of justice towards celebrity.

And right up until the moment that the sentence was delivered on Tuesday, Lohan appeared to believe that.

''I did do everything I was told to do and did the best I could to balance jobs and show up,'' Lohan told the judge. ''It wasn't vacation, it wasn't some sort of a joke.''

Judge Revel proved to be an unforgiving critic. She said she found Lohan's apology insincere, likening her to ''somebody who cheats and thinks it isn't cheating if she doesn't get caught''.

LA County prosecutors had asked for a month's imprisonment. Judge Revel's sentence amounted to three times that, with a further three months at a drug rehab centre. Lohan's jail term will start on July 20.

In a Twitter feed last month, Lohan said she was hard at work on her next - then unnamed - acting project. Inferno, the biopic of Lovelace, the porn star who made a fortune for everyone except herself, is scheduled for release next year.

German's Gracious Low salutes Spain

Spain were described as the masters of football after reaching the first FIFA World Cup™ final in their history with a 1-0 victory against Germany.

The Spanish will play the Netherlands on Sunday at Soccer City, Johannesburg, in a match which pitches the great underachievers of world football against each other. Neither country has won football's greatest prize before.

But after central defender Carles Puyol scored the only goal of an intriguing rather than thrilling semi-final with a powerful header the FIFA World Cup is certain to have a new winners' name inscribed upon it. And Germany coach Joachim Low was the first to predict Spain would be crowned world champions.

Low, whose side were also beaten by Spain in the UEFA European Championship final two years ago, said: "Spain are a wonderful team. They are the masters of the game. You can see it in every pass. They can hardly be beaten. They are extremely calm and convincing. Spain were just better than we were and they deserved to win.

"In 2008 they won the European Championship in a very convincing way and they have been unchanged over the past two or three years. They play in an automatic way and I am confident they will win the title. They have put on top performances in all matches they have played and they can beat everyone. Over the past two or three years they have been the most skilled team of all. They circulate the ball quickly and we were not able to play like previous matches. We were not able to get rid of our inhibitions."

It was generous praise from the Germany boss, whose own side were a pale shadow of the vibrant team which had demolished England and Argentina in back-to-back matches. But while Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque was delighted with his side's performance he was taking nothing for granted where Sunday's final is concerned. Del Bosque said: "You must celebrate victory but with moderation and don't forget your responsibilities. We are sportsmen and we want to reach out for the World Cup.

"Our players know what football is. The defeat against Switzerland (in the group phase) was tough on us. We didn't deserve it. We have been growing and this brought us to the final. There is hardly anything more precious than to win the World Cup. We should not be bragging and too conceited, let's just play the next match. Holland play exciting football and have tried to become world champions for a number of years. There are two great teams."

Del Bosque also described what it meant to Spain, who have failed so often at World Cups when they appeared to have a good chance of glory. He said: "This country has changed enormously. We have great things and one of them is sports. We are privileged to have so many good sportsmen. Football is the local motivation. Spain deserves to be triumphant and to make it to the top."

Low, meanwhile, turned his thoughts to a third place match against Uruguay on Saturday and said he would not discuss his future. "I have got to try to wake up the team tomorrow," said Low. "We have another game to play. We will approach the match (for third place) seriously. We will come to terms with the disappointment and look forward. We have to look ahead and work hard and on Saturday provide a grand finale, if even a small finale."

On his own future he added: "I won't touch on this issue until after the tournament. Whoever the coach will be this team is here to stay over the next couple of years. The development has just started."

PUYOL : ensure the Spainiard a ticket for final

the celebration of Puyol's goal

On 73 minutes of the play, a heading by Carles Puyol ensure the team a place in final with Netherlands this 12 July.

According to the game, Spain totally over come the EURO 2008 rival, Germany very well. Germany didn't have their good play as they failed in a few counter-attack and total shot of 5 compare to 13 for Spain.

Iker Casillas was called into action for the first time just after the half-hour to turn behind a low 30-yard drive from Piotr Trochowski, the man brought in to replace Muller. On the stroke of half-time germany finally picked a hole in the Spain defence when Ozil broke into the box on to a pass from Klose. As Sergio Ramos Challenged, the German midfielder went to ground but referee Viktor Kassai waved play on.

The first final for Spain, this make the final game placed with two uncrowned team, the Netherlands seem will be a tough rival for Spain.
